What is a Security Freeze?
A Security Freeze restricts others from viewing your Innovis Credit Report. Unless an exception
applies, whenever a request is made, a message is sent that your report is frozen, indicating that your
permission is required to access and view your report.
What are the exceptions to others viewing my report after I add a Security Freeze?
Some organizations can always gain access to your Innovis Credit Report, even if you have a Security Freeze in place. Access varies by state, but generally the list includes:
- Your current creditors
- Collection agencies acting on behalf of your current creditors
- Credit monitoring companies
- Government agencies as permitted under the FCRA
What is the difference between a Security Freeze and a Fraud Alert?
A Security Freeze restricts others from viewing your Innovis Credit Report without your permission.
A Fraud Alert allows others to view your Innovis Credit Report while signaling the potential for fraud and requesting that creditors use extra precaution, such as contacting you, before approving new or additional credit in your name. For more information, see Fraud & Active Duty Alerts

Who can request a Security Freeze?
Any consumer can request a Security Freeze on their credit report.
How do I place a Security Freeze?
You can add a Security Freeze online, by
phone,
or by mail.
You will need to provide personal information including your name, address, date of birth, and Social
Security Number. Once we have successfully verified your identity, a Security Freeze will be added to
your Innovis Credit Report. You will be given a 10-digit Security Freeze PIN to manage
access to your report for the duration of the Security Freeze.
Is there a cost to me?
There is no charge for the addition, temporary lift, or removal of a Security Freeze.
How long before a Security Freeze goes into effect?
Security Freezes are typically added within three business days after your request has been received, or as required by state law.
Can I view my report after I add a Security Freeze?
Yes. You can order and view your Innovis Credit Report.
How do I allow third parties to view my report after I add a Security Freeze?
A temporary lift allows you to specify a length of time or a creditor you choose to allow access to your Innovis Credit Report.
You can temporarily lift or permanently remove a Security Freeze at any time online, by phone, or by mail.

A Security Freeze will remain in place until you request that it be removed from your Innovis Credit
Report.
How long before a Security Freeze is lifted?
Most state laws require us to lift a Security Freeze within three business days after we receive your request.
